Sunlight Rewards FAQs

What's new?

What do I need to sign up?

  • New Orange® user – If you are a new user to Sunlight’s Orange® portal, you will be sent an email to establish your password. Click the link to create your password. On the Create Password screen, leave the box checked to accept the Terms & Conditions of the Sunlight Rewards Program.

  • Already have an Orange® account but haven’t enrolled in the Sunlight Rewards Program? There will be a button at the top of your screen (under the leaderboard) that says “Join Rewards and Start Earning” click that button and follow the instructions to enroll.

Create your Sunlight Rewards account

  • After you accept the Terms & Conditions of the Sunlight Rewards Program, you will receive a welcome email from contactus@sunlightfinancialrewards.com. Just click the “Create Rewards Login” button to set up your password. You may be asked to accept the Terms & Conditions of the Sunlight Rewards Program again. After this, you can begin viewing the catalog and adding prizes to your wish list.

What if I already enrolled in the Sunlight Rewards Program?

  • If you are enrolled in the Sunlight Rewards Program, the top of your screen will display a leaderboard similar to the following:

How does the Sunlight Rewards Program work for Home Improvement partners?

  • Each Sunlight-approved deal that is fully funded will earn you 160 points for each $1,000 of the loan amount. We will round the loan amount down to the nearest $1,000. For instance, if a loan of $10,100 is fully funded we will round the loan amount down to $10,000 and you will earn 1,600 points.
  • Your third deal will earn you an additional 15,000-point bonus.
  • The points per deal are determined by Rewards Status* and its corresponding multiplier.
  • Level up your Rewards Status by selling more deals with Sunlight.
  • *Sunlight Rewards Status is determined in six-month increments, from July 1st - December 31st and January 1st – June 30th. Your Rewards Status is valid for the current and next six-month period.

    So for example, if you start with Sunlight in March and you sell at least $270,000 of fully funded loans by May, all of your deals for the remainder of the year will earn you at least 5X points.

Will I get points as soon as I sign up a new deal?

  • Your points will be pending when the customer’s loan agreement is signed but will not be awarded until after the deal is approved for payment by Sunlight. Pending points will show up in the Sunlight Rewards Profile for up to five days. The request for payment may be handled by your operations teammates. You can help by making sure customers submit any necessary stipulation documents – this ensures Sunlight can deposit your points as soon as possible!
  • Please note: You have up until the deal is approved for “payment request” to put the deal into the correct sales representative’s name. This can be done by clicking the edit button in the customer account in Orange.

What if I sell both Solar and Home Improvement loans through Sunlight?

  • Your solar and home improvement points will be tracked through a single Sunlight Rewards Program account. If you earn points through Solar or Home Improvement, they will both count toward your Sunlight Rewards Status and will be applied to each approved deal.

Are there other bonus opportunities and will my Sunlight Rewards Status affect how much I can earn on these bonuses?

  • Sunlight will be running specials and other bonus opportunities at various times to help you earn more. Keep in mind that any bonuses will not be calculated based on your status level. For example, a bonus opportunity of 15,000 points can only earn you 15,000 regardless of your status.

Do the points have an expiration date?

  • With the Sunlight Rewards Program, points do not have a set expiration date.

I’m already enrolled in Sunlight Rewards Program. Can I count my deals before April 22nd toward my Sunlight Rewards Status?

  • Sunlight-approved deals that were approved prior to April 22nd will not count toward your Sunlight Rewards Status.

I have been working with Sunlight and just signed up for the Sunlight Rewards Program. Can I get credit from my previous sales?

  • Unfortunately, Sunlight can only award points for sales that were approved after you accepted the current Terms and Conditions of the Sunlight Rewards Program. All deals approved thereafter will earn you points according to your Sunlight Rewards Status.

I’m already enrolled in the Sunlight Rewards Program and it seems like my balance may be incorrect?

  • The awarded points at the top of your Orange® dashboard will show the points you have earned since April 22nd. If you earned points before April 22nd, they will not be visible in this counter.

  • If you click into your Sunlight Rewards Program profile (click the present icon), you will be able to see your current points balance which would include points earned before April 22nd (total points earned minus any redemptions for prizes).

Does this affect my taxes?

  • The Sunlight Rewards Program may affect your taxes. If your total redemptions for the taxable year exceed $600, the IRS requires that you state the value of the rewards you have received as part of your income for tax purposes. Once Sunlight determines that you have earned at least $600 worth of points, Sunlight will ask you to provide some additional information (including your address and social security number) in order to enable Sunlight to provide you with the required 1099 statement. Please note that Sunlight is not a tax advisor and cannot provide individual tax advice. Any questions regarding the impact of your participation in the Sunlight Rewards Program on your taxes should be directed to your tax advisor.*
  • *Sunlight requires that each user has their own individual Orange account to ensure that each user manages their own tax liability.

When does the Sunlight Rewards Program end?

  • The program is currently ongoing, but Sunlight reserves the right to end the Sunlight Rewards Program at any time.
