Sunlight Rewards FAQs

The industry's first and only loyalty program which rewards you for selling Solar!

What's new?

  • Easily track your points, Rewards Status and bonus opportunities within Orange®.
  • The Rewards Status system allows you to cash in for huge prizes by earning up to 10X points per deal depending on your Rewards Status (read more below).
  • There will be a 30,000-point bonus after your third deal is approved.

What do I need to sign up?

  • New Orange® user – If you are a new user to Sunlight’s Orange® portal, you will be sent an email to establish your password. Click the link to create your password. On the Create Password screen, leave the box checked to accept the Terms & Conditions of the Sunlight Rewards Program.

  • Already have an Orange® account but haven’t enrolled in the Sunlight Rewards Program? There will be a button at the top of your screen (under the leaderboard) that says “Join Rewards and Start Earning” click that button and follow the instructions to enroll.

Create your Sunlight Rewards account

  • After you accept the Terms & Conditions of the Sunlight Rewards Program, you will receive a welcome email from contactus@sunlightfinancialrewards.com. Just click the “Create Rewards Login” button to set up your password. You may be asked to accept the Terms & Conditions of the Sunlight Rewards Program again. After this, you can begin viewing the catalog and adding prizes to your wish list.

What if I already enrolled in the Sunlight Rewards Program?

  • If you are enrolled in the Sunlight Rewards Program, the top of your screen will display a leaderboard similar to the following:

How does the Sunlight Rewards Program work for Solar partners?

  • Each deal with "Notice to Proceed” approval will earn you at least 5,000 points.
  • The points per deal are determined by Rewards Status* and its corresponding multiplier.
  • Level up your Rewards Status by selling more deals with Sunlight.
  • Earn 30,000 bonus points after your third Sunlight-approved deal for a total of 45,000 points.
  • *Sunlight Rewards Status is determined in two six-month periods, from July 1st - December 31st and January 1st – June 30th. Your Rewards Status is valid for the current and next six-month period.
  • Example: If you start with Sunlight in March and you sell 18 deals by May – all your deals until December 31st will earn you at least 5X points (25,000 points per deal). To keep your Platinum Status for the next year, you need to earn 18 deals from July 1st to December 31st.

Will I get points as soon as I sign up a new deal?

  • Your points will be pending when the customer’s loan agreement is signed but will not be awarded until after the deal is approved by Sunlight for “Notice To Proceed.” Pending points will show up in the Sunlight Rewards Profile for up to five days. The request for “Notice to Proceed” may be handled by your operations teammates. You can help by making sure customers submit any necessary stipulation documents – this ensures Sunlight can deposit your points as soon as possible!

Are there other bonus opportunities and will my status multiplier affect how much I can earn on these bonuses?

  • We run promotions and Bonus Program opportunities all year long to help you earn more. Keep track of all the available bonuses and bonuses you've earned in your Sunlight Rewards Profile. Bonuses are not calculated based on your Rewards Status. You'll receive email updates about any new Bonus Programs.

What if I am a Home Improvement partner?

  • If you sell Home Improvement projects through Sunlight, you may be eligible to participate in the Sunlight Rewards Program. If your company is participating, there will be a button at the top of your screen (under the leaderboard) that says “Join Rewards and Start Earning.” Click that button and follow the instructions to enroll. You will receive an email from contactus@sunlightfinancialrewards.com to create your login and accept the Terms & Conditions of the Sunlight Rewards Program.
  • If your company partnered with Sunlight through a referral you are not eligible for the Sunlight Rewards Program.
  • If you cannot find this email please contact sunlightrewards@sunlightfinancial.com. Please note only Home Improvement users that launched without any referral applied are eligible to participate in the Sunlight Rewards Program.

What if I sell both Solar and Home Improvement loans through Sunlight?

  • Your Solar and Home Improvement points will be tracked through a single Sunlight Rewards account. Log in to Orange® and click the gift icon at the top of the screen to the right of the leaderboard to view your Sunlight Rewards Profile. Learn more about Sunlight Rewards for Home Improvement here.

I have been working with Sunlight and just signed up for the Sunlight Rewards Program. Can I get credit from my previous sales?

  • When you enroll into the program, points from Sunlight-approved deals will automatically deposit into your Sunlight Rewards account based on your Rewards Status at time of approval. You will not receive points for deals approved before you accepted the Terms & Conditions of the Sunlight Rewards Program.

I’m already enrolled in the Sunlight Rewards Program and it seems like my balance may be incorrect?

  • The awarded points at the top of your Orange® dashboard will show the points you have earned since the current period began. To view your current points balance (total points earned minus any redemptions for prizes), click on the gift icon to access your Sunlight Rewards Profile.

Does this program affect my taxes?

  • The Sunlight Rewards Program may affect your taxes. If your total redemptions for the taxable year exceed $600 (120,000+ points), the IRS requires that you state the Rewards value as part of your taxable earnings. Once you earn over $600 worth of Rewards points Sunlight will ask you to provide some additional information (including your address and SSN) so we can provide you with a 1099 statement. You will not be able to redeem points in the Sunlight Rewards Portal until this information is provided. Please note Sunlight is not a tax advisor and cannot provide individual tax advice. Any questions regarding the impact of your participation in the Sunlight Rewards Program on your taxes should be directed to your tax advisor.*
  • *Sunlight requires each user has their own individual Orange account, this ensures each user manages their own tax liability.

Do points expire?

  • No, points never expire with the Sunlight Rewards Program.

When does the Sunlight Rewards Program end?

  • The program is currently ongoing, but Sunlight reserves the right to end the Sunlight Rewards Program at any time.
