Sunlight Financial Makes Inc. 5000, Ranks No. 205 with Three-Year Revenue Growth of 2,090%

NEW YORK and CHARLOTTE – August 12, 2020 – Sunlight Financial, a leading technology-enabled, specialty finance company providing point-of-sale financing solutions for residential solar and home improvement projects, announced today that it’s been named to Inc. Magazine’s, Inc. 5000 annual list of America’s fastest-growing private companies. Inc. Magazine revealed that Sunlight ranks No. 205 with three-year revenue growth of 2,090 percent.

“It is an honor to be recognized as one of the fastest-growing private companies in America,” said CEO Matt Potere. “We’re proud of the culture we’ve built at Sunlight and appreciative of the over 1,000 solar and home improvement contractors and 12,000 salespeople who trust Sunlight to facilitate frictionless financing for their customers.”

Since opening its office in Charlotte in 2015, Sunlight has experienced rapid expansion, funding over $2 billion in loans for homeowners who want to go solar or complete other home improvements. Sunlight has positioned itself as the preferred option for homeowners buying solar systems and completing home improvement projects in the U.S.

The most prestigious ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies, the Inc. 5000 represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment – its independent small businesses.

Not only have the companies on the 2020 Inc. 5000 list been very competitive within their markets, but the list as a whole shows staggering growth compared with prior lists as well. The 2020 Inc. 5000 achieved an incredible three-year average growth of over 500 percent and a median rate of 165 percent. The Inc. 5000’s aggregate revenue was $209 billion in 2019, accounting for over 1 million jobs over the past three years.

“The companies on this year’s Inc. 5000 come from nearly every realm of business,” says Inc. editor-in-chief Scott Omelianuk. “From health and software to media and hospitality, the 2020 list proves that no matter the sector, incredible growth is based on the foundations of tenacity and opportunism.”
